ROSSBURG, OH (November 17) – Following a successful 2008 debut of the Ohio State Championship Pull, the founders
of the event, the Ron Barga family, have announced a continuation of the event in 2009, but at a different location.
The Barga’s confirmed this week that the ’09 edition will be staged Saturday, June 27 at Eldora Speedway.
“We are excited that the event will be moving to Eldora, as it allows us to expand upon the class offerings and allow
growth to this event. Our first effort, in 2008, at the Darke County Steam Threshers grounds resulted in a great turnout
and we appreciate everything that they did for us, but that same success has dictated a move to a larger facility,”
commented Ron Barga.
Under the sanctioning eye of the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association, the event will feature
the wheel standing Jeff McPherson Two Wheel Drive truck class, the extreme Columbus Diesel Super Stock tractor class, the
ground pounding multi-engine Crow’s Hybrid Seeds Modified tractor class and the heaviest class in the world, the 20,000
pound Carroll’s Truck Parts Pro Stock semis. As in 2008, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation. Initial plans for the Ohio State Championship Pull at Eldora Speedway
call for a 7:00 PM start to the truck and tractor pull; with Sunday afternoon (2:00) being reserved for a weather date, if
needed.
